Biomechanics & Sports Injuries
This is a specialty of the clinic as we combine the specialist knowledge of gait analysis and biomechanics from the podiatrists with the musculo-skeletal therapy and rehabilitation regimes of the physiotherapy team.
When you book a biomechanical assessment you are first seen by the podiatrist to have a full lower limb assessment and gait analysis done. This will pinpoint any misalignments within your bony structure and identify the cause of any lower limb or foot pain that you may be having.
Often this can be corrected with Orthotics. These are prescription insoles which are tailored to correct the angles of your feet and leg to improve posture and gait. Our range of orthotics start at £18 for entry level supports, through to £165 for fully bespoke orthotics taken from a cast of your foot which creates an orthotic unique to your foot profile and prescription.
If during this assessment your podiatrist feels that you would benefit from a physiotherapy opinion of your condition then a free 15 minute assessment, either on the same day or at a time to suit you, can be arranged.
Richard our lead physiotherapist has a special interest in sports injury prevention and back to fitness rehabilitation. He has experience working with the elite SAS troops as well as athletes from running, boxing, motorsports and golfing backgrounds to name but a few. A keen sportsman himself he can pinpoint the cause of your problem and get you back to peak fitness.
Lauren our massage therapist also offers Sports Massage Sessions or Deep Tissue Massage to realese tight muscle groups. This is 45 minutes for the standard session or 60 minutes for the extended session.
